"1909" is a new collection of jewelry, inspired by antiques and handmade in NYC. Please allow us 4-6 weeks to build and deliver your piece to you.
People have set gems into precious metal for thousands of years. In almost every museum's jewelry collection you can find simple ancient specimens in which metal surrounds a colored stone, holding it in place. We used a pair of 1st century AD Roman earrings that we saw in the British Museum as a jumping-off point to develop these earrings. Each uncut, unpolished diamond measures about a quarter of a carat, and they look rustic in their smoothly polished 14K gold square settings, which measure about 1/8" in length, width, and depth. Diamonds naturally grow in this cubic shape, and we did what many ancient jewelers did to gems: very little. Please note that these stones' color ranges from light green to orangey-green to dark grey, and we can't standardize the colors we get. While your diamonds may not look exactly like the ones pictured here, know that we'll pair two similarly colored stones for you, and they will be gorgeous and unique.
