These delicate opal stud earrings come in three colorways—milky white, neon-flecked green, and multi-hued "black". In addition to being gorgeous, opals are reputed to have healing properties and the ability to stimulate the creative imagination. These 1/4" long triangles are set in sterling silver with sterling silver posts and backs. Their low profile and geometric simplicity make these earrings look modern, but the materials and craftsmanship are firmly rooted in American history. Silver-smithing and stone-setting was once a major source of income for Native Americans. In New Mexico, members of the Zuni Nation are still making a living by producing traditional Native American jewelry in small batches—we're thrilled to be collaborating with them on this project. In addition to supporting their craft-based business, we're donating a percentage of the profits from the sale of these earrings to TEWA Women United, a non-profit group for Native American women that seeks to address issues of suicide, alcoholism, and sexual violence through female empowerment.
