These hand-cast earrings were modified from a 19th-century wax seal found in an antique shop in Glasgow, Scotland. They are purposely non-matching; one reads (backwards) "ALL'S WELL", and the other says (also backwards) "WE MAY BE HAPPY YET". The mirror-image text means that you can press these earrings into a soft material like wax or clay and produce a legible, forward-facing stamped image. Some imperfections from the original stamp remain, adding to the antique quality of these earrings. Posts are sterling silver and earring backs (on the brass) are hypo-allergenic plastic and stainless steel. On the silver earrings, backs are sterling silver. Measurements are just under 1/2" wide and about 3/8" tall.
