This unbelievably tiny (1 1/8" long) skull came to us through a science teacher's supply catalog. The original belonged to a ruby-throated hummingbird, (Archilochus colubris) which are the kind you see throughout the US. Reaching a length of only 3 inches, it is, along with other hummingbirds, the smallest type of bird in the world. We cast this specimen in bronze and sterling silver and and put each piece on a sturdy matching chain. They're spectacularly detailed and true-to-life. Suitable for men and women, this necklace doesn't look as gothic as you'd think—it's delicate, understated, and can be worn all the time, not just for nights out at the BatCave. Total chain length is 22".
