Touareg Necklace
$50.00
These large pressed-glass pendants were made in Czechoslovakia during the early 20th century. They were intended for use as currency between the Saharan Touareg tribe and the colonial European forces in Africa at the time. From what we understand, the nomadic Touaregs wore these brightly colored geometric objects as hair ornamentation.

We've strung each 2" pendant onto a doubled 30" length of white powder-coated steel chain. A brass toggle secures the chain at back. Take care when wearing this necklace; the glass is a sturdy 3/8" thick, but may break if dropped. If you have a color preference, please specify "red", "blue" or "green" in the message section at checkout.
