Holy hippie crap! Until I started working with healing
stones, I didn't really know much about their magical properties. I
chose these minerals based purely on their beauty, but while researching
their powers, I believe now that THEY CHOSE ME. (Sage burns in
background). On each earring, two chevron-shaped cuts of stone come to a point at the
bottom of a vintage braided chain. Antique African hand-rolled tubes
and teeny triangle charms cascade down the chain, moving freely towards
the convergence of stones. The earwires are gold-plated brass, and we add two clear rubber stoppers to keep these hooks from slipping out of your ear. Total earring length, from top of earwire, is just over 3".
Let me tell you about the three types of minerals you can choose from:
-Hematite, the original "Bloodstone", was used by ancient Egyptians to aid in curing abnormalities and diseases of the blood, to reduce inflammation, and to treat hysteria. Hematite itself exhibits an ability to heal itself; if scratched and then rubbed, the scratch will often disappear. Some of the earliest mirrors were made of this highly polished black stone, and it's believed to reflect negative energy back from whence it came.
-Tiger's Eye is a shimmering, striated golden brown type of quartz that was worn by ancient Roman soldiers to help focus their minds in tumultuous battles. In today's complex world, it's still relevant: it is said to slow the movement of energy through the body, which improves mental clarity. It's really pretty, but it also calms the nervous, anxious mind. As an added bonus, Tiger's Eye has a reputation for attracting wealth, money and luck.
-Crazy Lace Agate is a multicolored cryptocrystalline quartz from Mexico. If you need to maintain a sense of well-being while everything around you seems to be falling apart, this stone is for you. It is not a stone of protection, but of support and encouragement, elevating thoughts and promoting optimism. Also called "Laughing Agate", it's associated with Mexican celebrations and dancing, and will promote energizing joy in the wearer. The ancients drank powdered crazy agate mixed with water to counteract snake venom, and it's said to ward off depression. Also, it counteracts arachnophobia.
-Rhodonite is the state stone of Massachussets. If that's not enough for you, carrying this pinkish-colored quartz will strengthen your resolve and discipline, allowing you to process chaotic situations and patiently assess your options. This "rescue stone" is said to heal lingering physical and emotional scars. It's associated with the relief that comes with forgiveness. Wearing it will help cast off confusion, doubt and incoherency, and it protects you from being injured or permanently damaged by the harmful energies you work with.
