These simple Ancient Roman hoop earrings are fashioned from twisted 18k gold wire. One earring has retained it's original decorative green glass bead, but its partner lost it's ornament at some point over the last two thousand years. Earrings like these were designed to be worn all the time and infrequently (if ever) removed. The earring is put on by straightening the pointed wire and inserting through the pierced ear, threading the wire through the coil, and then closing it in a loop. It probably can be done at home with a dexterous hand and a pair of pliers, but if that process sounds intimidating, you might consider asking a body piercer to assist you.
