This c. 3-4th century AD Roman ring is modeled is silver with trefoil beads at each shoulder and a textured wire accent running the length of the shank. The carnelian intaglio depicts Victory, a winged figure holding a palm frond, at an altar. The signet ring was an important piece of jewelry in Roman society. Not only was it a decorative symbol of rank and status, but the intaglio itself was unique to the owner and was used as an authoritative seal or signature on important documents. This ring is a size 8.25 and, believe it or not, it can actually be slightly resized. Comes with a certificate of authenticity.
