Coeur Ruby Ring

$1,140.00
About Details Inspiration
The blood-red ruby has been associated with love and the heart for eons, so it's only natural that we know it as a romantic stone. Here, a one-carat rose-cut ruby shaped like a tear (or a drop of blood?) is framed in warm 18k gold. It's perfect on it's own as an engagement ring, but it stacks well, too. We wear it with the Meridian Ring (pictured); both are made for us by our friends at Fiat Lux in San Francisco.

In 18th century England, people depicted the human heart as a tear (or pear) shape, with a point on one side and a curve on the other. It really does resemble the organ more closely than our current icon, the one you know as the "heart emoji".
