Early 19th Century“Simplicité Constance”Pansy Locket


This sweet Georgian locket is fashioned in 18k gold with a front glass panel painted in gold and black with the words “Simplicité Constance” — French for “Simplicity Constancy.” The locket holds a thin slice of mother of pearl painted with a pansy, the flower whose name comes from the French pensee meaning think of me. Hangs from a new 18" 14k gold chain.

    Good - wear to both the painted glass and the painting on the slice of mother of pearl, edges of mother of pearl have some small chips
