Early 19th Century Steel “DA” Seal in Original Box
This wax seal is Scandinavian. See the little circle over the "A"? Around the 1820s, someone in Sweden, Norway or perhaps Denmark was using this small object to imprint hot wax into their letters. It's steel, which is unusual for the period, and it's streamlined and unadorned which seems to be an enduring Scandinavian aesthetic preference. It remains in its original velvet-lined leatherette box.
