This early Victorian ring is fashioned in buttery yellow gold with undulating shoulders and a striking pairing of garnet cabochons and faceted chrysoberyl. The combination of the deep red garnet with spring green chrysoberyl might seem unusual in the modern day, but in the 19th century these lush colors paired with gold were a visual expression of wealth and the ultimate in opulence.
