A souvenir of Egypt, or at least the IDEA of Egypt, via 1925. After King Tut's tomb was discovered, Europe went crazy for all things Ancient Egyptian, and theme jewelry was churned out with more of an eye toward whimsical design than historical accuracy. This silver and enamel necklace is decorated with some excellent Egypt-y motifs (ankhs and lotuses), and may well have been a tourist souvenir from the region.
