Etruscan Revival Cannetille & Granti Bracelet in Original Box

This bracelet was made in the "archaeological style", that is, inspired by the jewelry found in the excavated ruins of ancient Etruscan cities. Ancient Etruscan jewelers excelled at creating depth and relief in gold using corded wire, filigree and granulation. During the mid to late 1800's, when these treasures were unearthed, European jewelers were inspired to create replica jewels using the ancient techniques. Here's an example of those attempts, a hinged gold bangle detailed with delicate cannetille and granti. The interior is engraved with the date "Octr [October] 26th 1893". This bangle comes in its original box.
