This 18k gold necklace was made in the "archaeological style", that is, inspired by the jewelry found in the excavated ruins of ancient Etruscan cities. Ancient Etruscan jewelers excelled at creating depth and relief in gold using corded wire, filigree and granulation. During the mid-1800's, when these treasures were unearthed, European jewelers were inspired to create replica jewels using the ancient techniques. Here's one of those attempts, which worked out well, we think. Three beautiful round and tapered nodes are adorned with tiny gold beads, twisted wire and granulation and connected by a fancy link round chain.
18k yellow gold.
16" length, large decorative nodes measure 1 1/4".
