Georgian Black Dot Paste Earrings


These Georgian paste earrings feature a black dot painted at the base, this thoughtful detail was added to "diamond" paste jewelry to imitate the open culet that characterizes the old mine brilliant cut. The stones are foil-backed and mounted in silver with gold-wash on the reverse side and 9k gold ear wires.

    Very good - the foil on one earring is slightly less bright than on its mate; these were converted into earrings from buttons or cufflinks at some point in time; spot of discoloration on the back of one earring

    5/8" length measured from the top of the ear wire, 3/8" width
