CUPID WASN'T ALWAYS portrayed as a cute flying baby. He was also known as Eros, the Greek god of carnal love. Here, he's looking very ripped and stands holding his "torch of passion" which very much looks like his.... torch of passion. A butterfly also appears, as it often does to identify Cupid.
