A crisp and classic Georgian mourning band decorated with black and white enamel and set with an oblong garnet. This garnet almost certainly takes the place of what was once a hair locket. The underside of the head is engraved "Geo.e [George] Hannam ob 21 Octr [October] 1807 Aet 62".
18k gold (tests), black and white enamel, 2cm x 7mm garnet
Engraved for 21 Oct 1807
Very good - garnet is almost certainly a replacement of a hair locket; small solder mark along white enamel border around the garnet visible under magnification
8.5, cannot be resized; 1cm head, 3.5mm shank
