Agate, a variety of chalcedony, is a member of the quartz family. It's most often seen in Georgian and Victorian jewelry in its banded form (also known as onyx) which was carved into cameos, intaglios, and wax seals. These translucent swirling agate ovals are mounted in rose gold with hinged links, a concealed clasp, and safety chain.
