Georgian Husband & Wife Mourning Ring

$3,500

Heartbreakingly, this husband and wife died within a few weeks of each other in 1797. The twin dedications on the band read "Mr Wm [William] Woodhams Died 30 Oct: 1797 Aged 63/ Mrs Mary Woodhams Died 19 Nov 1797 Aged 62". They were in their 60's, which isn't too bad of a life span for 18th century England. That same year across the Atlantic, John Adams was sworn in as the second president of the US. Extra points for you ancestry researchers if you can figure out more about this couple. Also heartbreakingly, it's a non-resizable US 11 so it can't live in my personal collection. Mint condition, rare.
