Georgian “Le Plus Loin, Le Plus Tene” Seal Fob Necklace

$1,250

Sold!

Google translate tells me that the French phrase "Le Plus Loin, Le Plus Tene" means "The Farthest, The Longest". I think there's more nuance there. Two birds fly with the ends of a long knotted string in their beaks. Maybe it's something more like "The further the distance, the tighter the knot". A sweet sentiment (in amethyst!) from around the year 1800.
