Georgian Paste Rivière

This elegant Georgian rivière dates to the early 19th century. The riviére, an endless collar of gems fastened with a concealed clasp, was at the height of fashion in the mid to late Georgian period. The necklace is composed of foiled cushion cut rock crystals in closed back crimped silver settings. The obverse is finished with an immaculate gold wash.

    Very good - The foil backings of a few stones on and near the clasp have discolored, probably from exposure to perfume or hairspray
