Georgian Table Cut Diamond & Turquoise Cluster Ring

My favorite new acquisition this week: a bold, beautiful ring dating to about 1780. The split shoulders, the variegated turquoise, the planes of that big table-cut diamond? All perfectly considered. Reminder: you have to take special care to never (EVER) let water get between the diamond and the foil sparkling behind it. This is not intended to be an everyday engagement ring. It's a special-occasion treasure, and you gotta treat her RIGHT.
