The use of turquoise as an ornament can be traced back more than 3000 years. The azure stone is one of the first gemstones ever to be mined, it featured prominently in Ancient Egyptian jewelry, Aztec ceremonial objects, and perhaps most fantastically, because it's bright blue color was considered a symbol of heaven on earth, it was used to tile the domes of palaces and mosques in Ancient Persia. The stone made its way to Western Europe via the Silk Road sometime in the 13th century. This delicate Georgian eternity ring is fashioned in gold with robin's egg blue turquoise cabochons in crimped settings. As with almost all Georgian jewelry, this ring has a closed back and should be worn with care. Size 8, cannot be resized.
