Grand Tour Micromosaic Medusa Ring

THIS MICROMOSAIC RING from the 1870s was skillfully crafted in a Roman workshop from tiny glass tesserae. It depicts Medusa, a figure from Greek mythology renowned for her protective and powerful presence. During the Grand Tour, travelers strove to connect with classical antiquity, and this souvenir would have shown off the Grand Tourist's appreciation of ancient art and mythology.
