Late 18th Century French Carved Onyx Spaniel Wax Seal Fob
This onyx dog was carved in onyx around the year 1780. This was arguably the peak of Neoclassicism in Western art and design, so an ancient figure obviously had to make an appearance on the intaglio: he’s Lucius Septimus Severus. Rare and special.
