We often see this phrase - “Gott Schütze Dich” emblazoned on silver jewelry from the Victorian era. This ring, in gold, is way more unusual and special. “May God protect you” seems to be the literal translation, but I have a feeling it's more like “Godspeed” or “good luck”. Either way, it has a kind of amuletic quality. A cluster of words to protect you.
