This late 19th century penknife once hung from a woman’s chatelaine. Tiny tools like this were used around the home for light-duty cutting, paring or scraping. This is an exceptionally cool example, modeled in silver and in the shape of a deer's foreleg with an engraved gold blade. Please be mindful when wearing this necklace, though it’s petite and pretty to look at, it’s still a real knife and is relatively sharp. French hallmark on the blade.
