The C. Packer & Co shop on Regent Street in London specialized in mourning jewelry until 1839. Then they dissolved a business partnership (bad blood?) at which point the remaining jeweler turned his attention to pearl beads and coral. These earrings were made after that switch. We would have never known their maker, but luckily the original box has remained with them (for 125+ years!)
