An exquisitely rare Medieval finger ring modeled in high karat gold and set with amber glass. Nineteenth century collectors named this style "tart mold" owing, unsurprisingly, to the setting's resemblance to the shape of a pastry crust. This piece dates to the 12th or 13th century and is Western European in origin.
