19th Century French Multi Gemstone Harem Ring


This stacked diamond, sapphire, ruby and emerald ring is commonly referred to as a “harem” ring - a moniker derived from its loose interpretation of the of the Turkish wedding ring or puzzle ring. This thoroughly un-puzzling ring is composed of individual gem-studded bands linked together at the base. This lovely version of the harem ring is fashioned in gold and features French hallmarks on the back of each and every hoop. This ring is a size 5 and cannot be resized.

    18k gold (marked and tests), 24 1.5mm rose cut diamonds, 4 2.2mm sapphires, 5 2.2mm rubies, 4 2mm emeralds

    c. 1870

  • Condition

    Very good - one sapphire has a small chip and is missing the tip of one of its prongs but is secure

  • Size

    5, cannot be resized; 11.5mm head, 6mm total width at the shank
