Mid Victorian Greek Key Locket Earrings

$1,400

Sold!

THE AMERICAN Civil War hadn't yet started when these earrings were made with two glass panels to stash hair from a loved one. Whether it was from someone you had a crush on or a family member that had died, hair was a way to keep loved ones close to you (literally) when they were gone from sight. The enamel Greek Key motif was one of the Neoclassical motifs that dominated fashion in the 19th century.
