What was happening in the world around the time that this ring was made? Vasco de Gama sailed to India, Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa, Henry VIII became the King of England and the Protestant Reformation began. Somewhere in the midst of all of that, this outstanding post medieval ring was made. Fashioned in 22k gold, the ring features a quatrefoil face set with a point cut garnet and belled foliate shoulders. c. 1500.
