Victorian Pre-Columbian Pictograph Souvenir Collar

$2,400

Sold!

WE RARELY SEE Victorian jewelry with pre-Columbian themes, but here's what we think happened: A woman named Virginia Lyon traveled to Mexico or South America, was captivated by the imagery she encountered, and commissioned this piece to bring home to England. Alternatively, skilled local artisans may have crafted this pre-Columbian inspired necklace specifically for American, English, or French tourists. Virginia's name is thoughtfully engraved on the back.
