Victorian Banded Agate Locket

Agate crystals occur in many hues and typically grows as a layer stone. Sometimes these layers are strikingly different colors, and this contrast can be used to great effect in cameos, intaglios, or in the case of this piece, to create a pretty striped halo. Metaphysically speaking, the multiple layers of the agate crystal have the power to elicit hidden truths and balance yin and yang. This Victorian ball locket features two oval banded agate cabochons fitted in gold.
