Victorian Banded Agate Trio Ring


Banded agate (also known as onyx) is the stone most often used in carving cameos and intaglios, cutting them en cabochon or fashioning round beads with a single stripe came into vogue in the mid 19th century. This lovely Victorian ring is modeled in 18k yellow gold with a trio of brown and white banded agate cabochons.

    18k gold (marked), 2 4mm banded agate cabochons, 1 6mm banded agate cabochon

    c. 1890

  • Condition

    Very good - one cabochon has a small abrasion visible under magnification

    6.75, can be resized; 6.1mm face, 1.4mm shank
