In the 1880’s, when this mini machine was made, you could get a sense of upcoming weather at a glance. See the tiny screw? You’ll need to remove the case, use an eyeglass screwdriver to loosen it and set the barometric pressure within your area, then tighten the screw and put the barometer back into the gold frame. If this sounds intense, we’ll walk you through it. Two things I love about Victorian technology: one, it holds up well over time. Two, utilitarian objects didn’t NEED to be beautiful, but they often were. Note the pretty reeded edge and engraving on the back. Miraculously, it’s still in the original leather box! 18k gold.
