Victorian Bog Oak Shamrock Bracelet

$1,000

Sold!

THIS 19TH CENTURY bog oak bracelet features a shamrock motif, making it a quintessential Irish souvenir. Bog oak, a fossilized wood preserved in Ireland's peat bogs for centuries, was a popular material for Irish-themed jewelry during the Victorian era. Commonly carved with motifs like harps and clovers, it symbolized Irish heritage and was a popular (and affordable) souvenir purchased by tourists visiting Ireland. The 14k gold details make this a nicer-than-usual specimen.
