Victorian Bohemian Garnet Hair Comb

Rose cut and cabochon Bohemian garnets adorn this striking Victorian era hair ornament. The garnets are called "Bohemian" because these stones were once exclusively mined in the country that after WW2 was re-named Czechoslovakia. Garnets, the January birthstone, have been prized throughout history for their beauty as well as their supposed curative and uplifting effects. This tiara-esque array of garnets is affixed to a tortoiseshell comb and swivels to accommodate the shape of your updo.
