A Victorian novelty wax seal fob modeled in the form of an elephant and rider. The quatrefoil bloodstone base is carved with the initials "EJL". Fobs such as this one were designed to be impressed into a dollop of hot wax to form a decorative seal on correspondence. Sometimes the mountings are figural, but we've never seen one quite like this before.
