Victorian Pearl & Diamond Starburst Mourning Ring

$2,200

Sometimes memorial rings lead us to very specific information about the person they memorialized. Here, we found a LOT, including the epitaph on his gravestone: "Beneath this stone are deposited the remains of all that is mortal of Rev. Charles Martyn, M.A. of Oriel College Oxford for 15 years Rector of this parish who departed this life the 31 day of January 1864 aged 75 years". He was married to Clarissa, daughter of Sir Charles Flower. His hair is still beneath the locket, but if that creeps you out, you can easily remove it.
