Victorian Plique-à-Jour Shamrock Necklace

$1,450

Sold!

Plique-à-jour, French for “letting in daylight,” is like miniature stained glass. The enamel is suspended within cells without a metal backing, hold it up to the light and you'll appreciate the technique, which is considered highly challenging to do well. This gold pendant features a pair of plique-à-jour shamrocks (note the blue shading within each green leaf) with tiny rose cut diamonds at the base of each stem.
