Victorian Rose Cut Diamond Lucky Pig Necklace

In the Middle Ages, pigs were a sign of wealth and prosperity because they were easy to feed and reproduced quickly. Fast forward to modern Germany, where “Schwein gehabt” (“got a pig”) is a figure of speech that means “to be lucky”. This diamond studded cutie was made around 1880 as a good luck talisman.

    Very good - likely converted from a pin into a charm; one garnet eye looks like a replacement of the original
