Guilloché enamel jewelry is made by creating a decorative (and usually repetitive) pattern on a metal surface and then coating it in translucent enamel. These pieces have the illusion of depth and texture but are smooth and even to the touch. This remarkable Victorian locket features crosshatched seed pearls with diamond-shaped panels of guilloché enamel that have been cleverly rendered to look like emeralds. Superb quality and in excellent antique condition.
