Victorian Winged Witch's Heart Brooch
Sold!

The heart shape has evolved over the centuries from an upside-down pear shape in the 1500s to the symmetrical cleft heart we use today. In the 19th century, this version - with a twist to one side - was commonly called a "witch's heart." Giving your loved one a jewel in this shape meant that they had "bewitched" you (in the most romantic way possible). This lovely Victorian winged witch's heart brooch is set with seed pearls, turquoise cabochons and a single old European cut diamond and comes in its original box.
