Vintage Star Ruby Cluster Ring

This Vintage ring's silky pink stones are a rare variety of ruby called "star ruby". A six-rayed star magically shimmers over the surface of the stone when it's moved in bright light. The star-effect, aka "asterism", is caused by dense fiber-like inclusions. Light reflects from them, creating the rays. Star ruby is one of the few gemstones which actually require inclusions and are made more beautiful by them. Single cut diamonds surround each ruby creating a floral feel in triplicate.
